Living In Freedom Eternally!
Jesus stated His eternal purpose on this earth, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10 NIV)
The kind of life that Jesus was talking about was not “bios” (biology), but “zoe” (eternal life, like God).
Much has been said these days about Freedom! We Americans love our freedom! We declared freedom from the British monarchy in 1776. In that declaration we boldly declared, “we hold these truths self-evident….all men are created equal…”. Our founders were not referring to our being identical, but equal in opportunity. They described our purpose to be “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
That brings up the question, when does life begin? Biology tells me that when the sperm and the egg unite, in a short while a heartbeat will be heard --- but Scripture declares that immediately (actually before), a spirit is imparted to that union – that IS a person – a life – to be celebrated and protected.
Lately, we have heard women scream, “My body – My Right”. Okay, it’s your body, but what about the baby in your womb? That’s technically NOT your body – though it is housed in your womb – that’s another life! Where is that child’s rights – to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”?
Ever wonder why some called “Doctors” persist in calling it a “fetus” – a biological mass. God calls it a LIFE!! As long as I’m convinced that it is just a mass then I can sooth my conscience by killing it! GOD IS NOT AMUSED!
Recently, our Supreme Court stated that the Constitution does NOT give a blanket right to abort babies! It’s up the States individually to regulate and legislate laws and rules for that procedure.
Listen to the screams of the mad and angry people – “You took away my right!” – NO – you didn’t have that right anyway!
