Scarcely .... but God!
Today is Memorial Day -- 2017 -- a day to "remember" the fallen soldiers who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms here in America. Without their sacrifice, we would not have the freedom to have that picnic -- go to that park -- or enjoy time with your family! We could be like so much of the world -- be living under an oppressive government which restricts our freedom.
Think about this today! How many have given their lives here in America for our freedoms --- those who "scarcely" would die ..... for the cause of freedom? Add it all up:
US Casualties:
American Revolutionary War ........ 25,000
Civil War ...................................... 750,000
WW I ............................................ 116,516
WW II .......................................... 405,399
Korean War .................................. 36,516
Vietnam ....................................... 58,209
Gulf War ....................................... 294
Afghanistan .................................. 2,356
Iraq War ....................................... 4,497
1,398,787
These are estimates --- and they only apply to the United States --- many have died since from injuries associated with these wars ..... and lives are still at risk today around the world ... and soldiers are still giving their lives ......
Let's put this in perspective ---- Thank God for the almost 1.5 million lives given for us. But ONE MAN gave his sacrifice for the whole world.
Present world population is constantly on the rise 7.5 BILLION
273,000 + will be born today
113,000 + will die today
NET gain of 160,000 each day Who's going to save them --- give them freedom? BUT GOD
One of the most powerful Scriptures in the Bible is found in Romans 5:7-8 (English Standard Version) "For one will scarcely die for a righteous person - though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die. But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
As we honor our fallen heroes today --- let's dedicate ourselves again to let the whole world know that GOD has given HIS SON --- to die on a cross to free us all from the bondage of SIN, which separates us from God, and causes all the wars and conflicts in the world.
Remember this --- Muhammad did not die on a cross
Buddha did not die on a cross
NONE of the Hindu deities died on a cross
NO ONE BUT JESUS CHRIST GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR A WORLD OF SINNERS --- LIKE YOU AND ME!
It is estimated that 107,602,707,791 people have lived on planet earth since the Garden of Eden
That's 107.6 BILLION --- and Jesus died for each one of them!
LET'S HONOR THAT SACRIFICE EVERY DAY, FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!
