Be Flexible - Plans Change!

Life is all about CHANGE .... and let's face it ... the only people who really like change are babies in diapers!

The rest of us just have to adjust -- go with the flow -- be flexible -- and make the most of what happens to us in life.

Promises are made -- promises broken. Plans made -- plans can change in a moment.

Have you ever been on a tight schedule to get somewhere -- then the traffic jam occurs .... the accident up ahead happens .... or you're racing to the airport to only see the sign at the terminal check in .....DELAYED

How do you handle the frustration of the DELAY. It's true that "delay isn't necessarily denial" --- it's just a time thing -- a delay. No one likes them.

What about those career plans that seem to get detoured .... or sidetracked? Or worse, they can CANCELLED:

We are reminded in God's Word, that HE and HE alone has the best plans for us .... but, sometimes we do not understand His "delays" or His "cancelations" -- and naturally we get frustrated or even angry at what is happening.

God's people (Israel) were struggling with their perceived plans for their future, and God had to remind them to take their eyes OFF of their circumstances, and to FOCUS on His promise:

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future'."

The New Living Translation says, "...plan for good and not for disaster..."

English Standard Version says, "...plans for welfare and not for calamity..."

God, your creator ... your "Heavenly Father" ... is a good God -- and He really does have good plans for us.....but remember this -- they are HIS plans. Am I really ready to let HIS plans happen, or am I going to fight for my plans??

In the tough times, we who trust God, lean on a verse of Scripture in Romans 8:28, which states, "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them."

Notice .... God causes everything to work together for the good..... doesn't say that everything is good, but that God has a hand is causing things to work together. Now that's a chore -- only God, the Supreme Being, can make things work together. We humans cannot do that. Though we try, we fail. And failure in that case is good --- when I fail, HE succeeds. BUT, that means my plans will change ... some will be cancelled ... some will be delayed ... but GOD is at work for my good!

Somebody said that "If you plan for failure, you will succeed" and "If you don't plan, you will succeed at failure too"

Plans are good --- but expect them to CHANGE! Trust the God who loves you -- who Himself has good plans for you, and let Him work things together today!

Be encouraged! Don't give up your plans --- accept HIS plans -- and expect them to be delayed, but they will come together in HIS timing!

I learned long ago, to write on my calendar in pencil! --- and I have a BIG eraser!
